Ratchet and Nail Clips
Ratchet clips (also called ratchet clamps) are used to clamp down on LDPE pipe after the pipe is inserted into barbed fittings. By doing so, they make the connection stronger so it is better able to resist (a) expansion and contraction (b) ‘water hammer’, and (c) weakness when fittings are not optimally inserted.
Ratchet clips should first be tightened by hand, and then tightened an extra notch or two with a pair of pliers or grips.
Nail clips are used to secure our 4mm, 13mm, 14mm or 19mm LDPE pipe to rigid surfaces such as walls or wood. If necessary, the nails can be replaced with appropriate screws.
