Micro Irrigation
Micro-irrigation is an effective and efficient type of irrigation mainly used in domestic gardens. It uses small components, relatively small pipe and relatively small amounts of water, which is probably why it’s called ‘micro’.
Micro-irrigation is usually sold as components. People then use them to build a system that’s right for their garden.
There are 5 main components to micro-irrigation: (1) some way of timing when watering happens – usually using a tap timer (2) pipes and tubing (3) fittings for pipes and tubing (4) water emitters that drip or soak (5) water emitters that spray, sprinkle or create mist.
